STANLEY TUCCI gets Gotham Career Achievement Award from MERYL STREEP

I was looking forward to seeing Tucci get some awards for his extraordinary work as Meryl Streep’s busy but supportive husband in Julie & Julia. This Career Achievement award could be a good start on his way to golden glory. It’s nice to see Streep (was she really drunk???) present him the award after their terrific collaborations in the said J&J and The Devil wears Prada.

Let’s wait for the reviews of Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones, where he also plays a supporting role. I’m afraid this could be one of those cases of an actor reaping critics awards for two films and then being snubbed at the big night. Is J&J too weak a vehicle for Tucci to beat Inglorious Basterds’ Walz?
