Petula Clark’s Pye Anthology

This morning I was looking for an uplifting CD to take with us on our way to Maastrich and I ended up with one of my all-time favourites: Petula Clark’s Pye Anthology.

Forget about Duffy, Amy, Adele or Sharleen and go for the real thing.

‘I know a place’ was the follow-up to ‘Downtown’, the record she will always be remembered for, and builds up on its subject of urban escape. Her legendary crystal-clear enunciation of this flawless tune earned her a second consecutive Grammy. Have a listen.
