Rodrigo Leão’s A Mãe out in Belgium and France

Rodrigo Leão is one of the driving forces behind some of the most outstanding Portuguese musical acts since the 1980s. He was co-founder and member of Sétima Legião and Madredeus before starting his solo career, marked by an unmistakable combination of classic and modern influences.

He has collaborated with musicians like Lula Pena, Beth Gibbons or Ryuichi Sakamoto and has recently teamed up with Cinema Ensemble for the album A Mãe, which has just been published in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Cathy (clip in the link below), beautifully performed by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Neil Hannon, is the first North European single from the album.
